The greenhouse is a private sanctuary designed and hand built by Mitch & Megan Vaughan. It's made from rough cut cedar beams and old, refurbished windows. Born from loss and regrowth, born from the heart. Open for photographer/artist rentals, product shoots, small ceremonies and elopements.

What is this all about?

Our ‘Greenhouse Wedding Weekend’ is designed to give brides and grooms the chance to have a beautiful, intimate ceremony with gorgeous photography.

Where is the greenhouse located?

The space is our personal greenhouse. It is located in our backyard in Forest, Virginia. There is limited, designated parking available.

Is 1 hour even enough time?

Yes! With small, intimate ceremonies with a limited guest count, there are less people to move around which allows more time for the fun stuff!  We estimate ceremonies not to last more than 20 minutes, family/guest pictures to take about 10-15 minutes, with the remaining time being spent on bride/groom pictures.

How will my groom/guests not see me?

We ask that the groom, guests and officiant arrive 15-20 minutes before your time spot begins. Everyone is seated and the groom and officiant are in place. When your time spot begins, the bride exits her car, walks back to the greenhouse, walks down the aisle and meets her groom. After the ceremony, it will be time for guest/family pictures. After that, everyone leaves except the bride and groom. They have bride/groom pictures and they depart to enjoy the rest of their day!

What is included?

A one hour (firm) time spot, the greenhouse itself, photography by Megan Vaughan, a gallery of edited, high resolution images, a timeline of events and crossback chairs if desired.

How do I reserve my spot?

Half of the total cost is due to reserve your spot. It is NOT refundable. The remainder is due one month before the date.

What if I want to book two spots?

That is an option as well! Two back to back spots would need to be purchased, giving you a total of 3 hours. The investment would then be $6000.

Can we have our reception there?

Not for these special weekends! If you’d like to discuss having a full wedding at the greenhouse, please inquire.

Can I have more than 16 guests?

The greenhouse can hold 20 people, however we do recommend keeping your guest count small. The more people in attendance, the more time is spent for people to arrive, get seated, get lined up for family pictures and depart. More people can also lead to more (unintentional) stress, and the whole point of a small ceremony is to avoid that!

Do I even have to invite guests?

Absolutely not! Some couples choose to keep it as intimate as it can get, which just includes the bride, groom and officiant.

How many images do I get?

It depends on multiple aspects, but we estimate 200+ images.

Are there restrooms available?

For emergencies only. We ask that everyone in attendance arrive dressed, including the bride.

Do you have dressing rooms?

There are no dressing rooms available.

What if it rains?

If it rains, the greenhouse is large enough to have the ceremony and portraits inside.

Can I bring my pet?

Yes! Please bring bags to clean up afterwards.

Do you provide flowers?

We do not, but we can recommend some amazing local florists.

Can I have music?

You can! Please bring a wireless speaker and have a designated person available to play and stop the music.

Can someone sing for us?

Yes! Electricity is not available for a microphone, but with an intimate setting like the greenhouse, it won’t be needed.

What are my options for ceremony location?

You are able to get married inside the greenhouse or outside, depending on the weather. A questionnaire will be sent to you after booking, where you can select which setting you’d like.

Can I bring extra decor in?

Unfortunately, there is not time for additional decor set up.

What will the greenhouse look like?

The greenhouse has a broken glass flagstone floor, with grass in between each stone. Plants will be on the shelving, the back wall and hanging from the rafters. It is a greenhouse, after all!

When will 2020 dates be released?

Now! May 24th and September 20th, 2020.

How do I sign up?

You may sign up for your time spot here. Please keep in mind that you are not officially booked until your contract has been signed and received.

Hello I’m inquiring to see if the September date for 2020 is still available and also if there’s is in any way possible for 31 quests including the bride and groom to be present due to us both having 6 siblings each and them having significant others and children just our immediate family alone is 31 people!
