Welcome to Vaughan House! We are a storybook wedding venue nestled in the heart of Forest, Virginia. We’re honored to host intimate, magical micro-weddings for couples who want something extraordinary without the stress and cost of a traditional wedding.
Because we’ve grown so quickly, we know there’s been some buzz online. Some accurate. Some… not so much. We’re here to clarify with transparency, so you can make a confident, informed decision! All on your own terms.
Q: Is Vaughan House just someone’s backyard?
A: Yes, and we love that fact! It takes the anxiety out of walking into a massive venue with 4 white walls that echo when you speak. Vaughan House is a professionally zoned, licensed venue with a curated greenhouse, fairytale cottage, floral gardens and stunning covered space for your reception with a stone, wood burning fireplace. We’re proud that we’re able to offer luxury micro-weddings in our little corner of Forest.
Q: Are guest bathrooms located in the basement of a home?
A: Yes, and intentionally so. Our guest restroom is in a finished, climate controlled lower level of the main house, offering indoor plumbing, running water, and temperature-controlled comfort (something porta-potties and trailers can’t… not to mention the look of those!) We also also a space for your nursing/breastfeeding guests to take care of their baby in climate controlled comfort.
Q: Why is there so much demand? Can we really not tour before booking?
A: You absolutely can tour… and we encourage it! We offer tours regularly, but we book out months in advance due to high demand. Something we’re extremely grateful for and NEVER take for granted. Many couples choose to reserve their date first because our calendar fills quickly. But pressuring couples? Not our style. We simply provide the option to book site unseen, which puts our couples at ease knowing their preferred date and multiple core vendors are secured. After that, they chose to tour on their time. Prefer to see the space before booking? Absolutely! Our tour schedule is public and currently shows 4 weeks about based on our availability.
Q: Are your prices fair? What’s included?
A: We specialize in fully styled, all-inclusive micro-weddings. (Minus food and beverage!)
For our greenhouse weddings… the short answer, we automatically include:
– Up to 50 wedding guests
– The Greenhouse full of lush greenery and florals
– 4 hour greenhouse site rental
– 2 hours of optional set-up time pre-ceremony (if needed)
– 2 On-Site Coordinators
– Use of the Enchantry (with bistro lighting) for the reception
– 4 farmhouse tables for food set up
– Built-in Bar
– Cake & Gift Tables
– Use of our custom Lord of the Rings fire pit
– Use of our wood burning stone fireplace
– Playing of desired music
– On-site restroom
– Trash Takeaway
Our pricing reflects the actual value of a full wedding experience… not a DIY rental. We don’t do bait-and-switch pricing (CRAZY), and we never “punish” couples for their budget. We fully realize all budgets are different and work hard to offer as much as we can within our base pricing.
Q: Is this venue worth it?
A: We are not the best fit for everyone. But if you’re looking for a wedding that feels like a fairytale, with zero logistical chaos and 100% beauty handled by a small, dedicated team… then yes, it’s absolutely worth it. Just ask the hundreds of couples who said “yes” here!
Q: Why is there a minimum to book?
A: After 3 years of doing 100+ weddings a year, we’ve become very aware of where the potential issues can arise. Because our space is so unique, we’ve found that the day runs so much smoother when the core services come from our in-house team. Create your own package to utilize florals, custom decor & styling, the cottage and more! By working primarily with our in-house team, we’re able to guide the day with intention and care, protecting the vision, preventing chaos and making the magic feel effortless. This keeps the process smooth, the day cohesive and the magic intact.
